Presentation on Uzbek tourism potential held in Vienna

Vienna’s Bezirksmuseum played host to a presentation of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential. The presentation, which highlighted the activities of Kelajak Tour and major projects overseen by the Fund Forum, drew members of the tourism industry, the academic and business community, and general public in the Austrian capital city.

Titled “Uzbekistan, a Pearl of the Great Silk Road”, the presentation offered those gathered extensive information about Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, history, ancient cities as well as its historical and architectural landmarks.

The presentation attendees showed a particular interest in the varied tour programs offered by Kelajak Tour Bureau for International Youth Tourism and Cooperation. More specifically, the events that are certain to attract flocks of tourists to Uzbekistan include Asrlar Sadosi (Echo of Centuries) Festival of Traditional Culture and Style.Uz Art Week, major annual projects overseen by the Fund Forum. In addition to cultural and architectural monuments in Uzbekistan, potential tourists from Austria will have the opportunity to witness a unique flora and fauna, which is attributed to Uzbekistan’s location in several climatic zones, take a camel or horse ride into the desert and stay overnight in the open air.

The presentation included a documentary film about the country’s tourism potential as well as a photo presentation featuring images of ancient Uzbek cities and regions. The visitors also learned about Uzbekistan’s historical and cultural legacy and its contemporary development. The event also emphasized the country’s role as a center of culture and civilization not only in Central Asia, but also in the entire world.

Speaking at the presentation, the manager of Austria’s East Link tour company Wolfgang Tratenham said Uzbekistan is a dynamically developing country which has succeeded in modernizing its tourism infrastructure while creating and developing new directions in tourism. In his words, tourists who travel to Uzbekistan have an opportunity to enjoy high-quality hotel and transportation services that meet high international standards.

The Director of Bezirksmuseum, Doris Weis, noted that this event was an excellent opportunity for residents and tourists in Vienna to get acquainted with Uzbekistan and learn about its rich history and contemporary achievements. She expressed confidence that Uzbekistan would soon become one of the most attractive destinations for Austrian tourists.
