GULI co-sponsors ‘Nights in Monaco’ benefit gala

GULI label co-sponsored the ‘Nights in Monaco’ Gala Fundraiser benefiting the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the William J. Clinton Foundation on May 23. The star-studded charity event featured the likes of actress Diane Kruger with boyfriend Joshua Jackson, Hofit Golan, Billy Zane and jazz singer Caro Emerald among others. The guests were welcomed by Prince Albert II and former U.S. President Bill Clinton.

A major exposition titled “Generations Pass, Traditions Remain” mounted by Guli label in collaboration with Fund Forum, a leading NGO in Central Asia headed by Gulnara Karimova, was an opportunity for those gathered to get a taste of Uzbek culture, offering a blend of modern technologies and national traditions. The guests were drawn by Guli collections that represent traditional jewelry in a contemporary interpretation like a thread connecting the present and the past.

The show presented clothing and decorations loaned from Uzbek museums and private collections in the context of unique photos. The special technique of creating the photos enabled the viewers to grasp the main idea of the show – the images of young girls morphed into aging women while their clothes and jewelry remained the same, an effect that reflected the title of the exposition “Generations Pass, Traditions Remain”, a phenomenon characteristic of Uzbekistan. The photos on display were created by famous talented fashion photographer Alihan.

A series of Guli jewelry items went under the hammer at a charity auction in support of the environment. Guli collections represent a particular conceptual approach to jewelry, which consists in rejecting classical norms in the art of jewelry; Guli seeks to combine previously incompatible aspects, to blend cultures and to come up with impeccable quality in Swiss polishing. The other notable lots at the auction included exquisite jewelry with diamonds by Cora International Diamonds, Carla Amorim and other world-famous jewelry makers.
